In the show, Dupin is an investigator of a different sort, serving as both Roderick Usher's adversary and the man to whom he confesses his many sins. In "The Fall of the House of Usher," Gugino takes on the role of Verna, a mysterious and supernatural figure who haunts the eponymous family.
